I genuinely can not find the words to describe how much this made me feel. Thank you for putting this into the world.
oh man. you cant do this to me
Really fucking hard read for me given my general squeamishness towards blood and lacerations @_@ but sososo fucking good, perfectly channels such a specific and personally important period of internet metaculture. spoke to me.
playing this soon! im excited
I absoluetly love this ! :D This is gonna be in the top 3 of fav visual novels !! I love the design and the story ! :3 Have a great day/night if you read this ! ^w^
Even just starting with the setting, the explicit slovakia / poland / central europe mentions and mood overall were great. The dialogue felt wonderfully real and natural too (esp. towards the beginning). The backgrounds just being slightly blurry jpg-noisied irl photos adds so much. This VN looks like I remember my childhood, and should be so nostalgic for anyone our age who grew up in the territories of the former soviet union. (Representing the GDR over here)
Haunt Holy truly feels of its time. In its world, we have the skype mention, and the general air around creepypastas, and the homophobia. And in its characters, of these young girls exploring each other and their conflicting maturing desires for the first time. The first jerk off scene truly makes this into such an important piece of art for girlboys.
this is literally so perfect
this is about growing up
this is bold
I could go on about how I relate to so many of these experiences, the parallel masturbation into sleeping on the floor, the name name that comes to you in a dream. And also metatextually, it's really cool how Haunt Holy is just... about itself. About Holy as a creepypasta character, and about the horrors of maturing, and the realities of internet friendship.
blood as lube is genius.
the third act fucking gripped me.I was tense, covering my mouth irl, and the text was at its peak self-indulgence here- it was so delosate from anything but its own form. and a beautiful ending too.
This is lovely shaped. Thanks for making it :3
One of my favorite itchio visual novels so far. The cutting part did make it hard for me to read but I find that a good thing. Very uncomfortable yet addicting read with charming art and a well-written, intriguing story. A charming duo that makes you want to see what happens next.
me when my dumb ass thinks horror with cute art can't scare the shit outta me. you did it all right. wonderful work!
deeply unsettling game, well managed tone shift from awkward teenage stupidity, a situation where many things can go awry, to complete creepypasta induced madness, where things went more wrong than anyone could expect. the central european setting and aspects of the story felt disturbingly familiar to me personally, which no doubt made it hit harder.
was a really risky vn to read juts before bed i think. u_u
truly encapsulated the mess of feelings that come from confronting attraction and insecurities of going somewhere else for someone else. there was a lot of first times. a lot of personal experiences and feelings. and then it was just holdign my breath as things escalated towards the inevitable conclusion. incredibly impactful ending. good job thnk you for sharing this
side note for me the extremely european backgrounds certainly added to the unnerving familiarity of the story
holy is OUT holy has DESTROYED ITS CAGE
damn. reading this was like watching a train crash in slow motion—you can see where it’s going and you’re still kind of hoping it’ll crank the brakes at the last second while also knowing that the time anyone could have stopped is long past.
the feeling of palpable isolation—other characters rarely mentioned on screen, and a tense or hostile presence when they are; luna being away from home in a place where she only has one person she can talk to, literally—underlines the characters’ relationship really well, i think. so tightly in each others’ orbit that the crash is inevitable.
also the last screen was really just. incredible final note to end on.
I enjoyed this, the art was adorable, supplying no shortage of cuteness aggression. The flow of the writing was engaging and had its share of flourishes that impressed me. the subject matter was nostalgic to say the least, having indulged in things like ben drowned and marble hornets etc during the earlier years of the internet. very good, thank you for sharing.
